Southwest
Of all the American landscapes, the Southwest is probably the most familiar to Europeans.  Here you will find the Grand Canyon, and a land of vast open spaces, deserts and cactus,  and strange rock formations known as mesas.

The Southwest comprises the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Nevada. Natural attractions not to be missed in this region include the mighty Grand Canyon in Arizona, and Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon in Utah. New Mexico is the place to go to discover the history, culture and art of Native America.

In complete contrast to the nature of the region is Las Vegas, America's casino and gambling capital. This is the city of excess, where everything is artificial and where nighttime is as bright as day. Even if you don't like gambling, Las Vegas is still worth a visit. There is no place like it in the world!
