Rocky Mountains
The Rocky Mountain states comprise Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. This is a region of majestic mountain views, great rivers and wide plains. It is also the heartland of Native American culture and the place to go for an authentic 'cowboy and western' experience.

When it comes to natural wonders, The "jewels" of this region are Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park and Glacier National Park.

Yellowstone is America's first and largest national park. It is geologically very active with bubbling mud pools and steaming geysers. It is one of the last refuges for the mighty buffalo. Grand Teton National Park preserves some of the finest landscapes of the Rocky Mountains.

Other parks not to be missed include Mount Rushmore (faces of presidents carved in stone) and Dinosaur National Park.

American Travel Center can plan a self-driving tour, usually starting in Salt Lake City, Utah, and including the great national parks and reserves of the area.

A popular addition to our programs is at least one night in a working cattle ranch. Alternatively, a great way to tour the region is with a campervan.
